New Grading System for SEE
Government has changed the existing grading system. According to the new grading system the minimum score for the theory is 35 percent. Similarly the pass mark for the practical is 40 percent.
In the past the pass mark was 32. On the top of this the students total score of theory and practical was enough to calculate the grade point. But now the students must get pass mark both theory and practical.
Challenge for Students
According to the new provision of the grading system NEB will not provide the grade sheet for the students unable to get pass mark in three or more than three subjects.
It means if a student is not able to get minimum 35 percent in more than 3 subjects he or she will not get the grade sheet.
Such students must retake all the subjects as back paper next year.
New Evaluation System
The existing grading system has many errors. If a student got 24 in science practical and 8 marks in theory he was supposed as passed. But according to the new grading system students must get pass mark both theory and practical.
This will certainly improve the quality of the students.
